Steubenville San Diego is a Catholic conference for teens put on by the All  for God Catholic Youth Ministry. And it is so much more than a conference! It’s a retreat weekend and a transformational experience! Evangelistic in nature, authentically Catholic, Steubenville San Diego is a weekend filled with great speakers, engaging music, reverent Mass and prayer, and tremendous fellowship. Through powerful witness, inspiring worship and dynamic liturgies, Steubenville San Diego offers youth, young adults and leaders the opportunity to encounter Christ and to see the truth and beauty of our Church. To be loved so that they may go out into the world and love one another!

Steubenville San Diego is a joint effort of Franciscan University of Steubenville and All for God Catholic Youth Ministry with the goal of strengthening and inspiring teens, young adults, and youth groups in their collective journeys to Christ.

We are excited to once again support All for God’s Steubenville San Diego event. The conference offers a life changing experience that positively impacts teens for life. We are honored to be a part of the conference.

Our donation will provide scholarships to local youth who will attend the 2015 Steubenville San Diego young adult conference to be held July 24-26, 2015 at the University of San Diego.

Charity Spotlight: Iraqi Christian Relief Fund

Iraqi Christian Relief Fund

A-1 Self Storage is proud to support the Iraqi Christian Relief Fund.
Syria RefugeesIn a statement released on Thursday, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guterres, stated, “This is the biggest refugee population from a single conflict in a generation. It is a population that needs the support of the world but is instead living in dire conditions and sinking deeper into poverty.”

Over 4 million Iraqi Christians are being persecuted, and have been left homeless after the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) bombed, ransacked, and seized their homes. The Christian homes now belong to the Islamic State. This number does not include the additional 7.6 million people internally displaced inside Syria.

The Iraqi Christian Relief Fund (ICR Council) is a 501(c)(3) organization, that in coordination with entities and organizations in the United States, is responsible for educating the Americans of the religious and ethnic cleansing being inflicted on Christians in Iraq. Their objective is to raise awareness and support of the atrocities Christians are facing in Iraq.

A-1 Self Storage is honored to support the Iraqi Christian Relief Fund. Our prayers and thoughts are with our brothers and sisters in Iraq. We are confident that our support will reach those in most need through the Iraqi Christian Relief Fund.

100% of the funds raised  go directly to buying clothing, food, medicine, and basic necessities for those displaced in this crisis.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Experience

For those that don’t know, the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is part of a series of events that takes place in 11 different cities. There a half-marathon and full-marathon along with live music, food, and a health and fitness expo. More importantly, the runners of this event have raised more than $310 million for participating charities.Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Experience

A-1 Self Storage is proud to share the experience of two of our very own who participated in the Half Marathon here in San Diego, Rosie Galford and Tiffany BeMent.

While Rosie has ran in other events, this was her first time running in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and she felt this was the best course yet. “The beautiful sights of San Diego as well as the fresh air, live music from many different bands, and the thousands of supporters that came out to cheer the participants on, made this an unforgettable event for me.” The support of the spectators helped Rosie push through the 11th mile, which was her toughest, and allowed her to finish in an impressive 1 hour and 57 minutes.

“I would definitely recommend the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon to anyone looking to run their first marathon!” – Rosie Galford

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Experience

For Tiffany, this was the second Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon she has participated in. The course was much improved from when she last ran in 2011, with the finish line being in downtown right next to Petco Park. There was so much excitement throughout the city during the race and continued after with a concert in the outfield of Petco Park. “My favorite part was seeing the whole community come together to support each other. There were complete strangers on the sidelines cheering and encouraging the runners to keep going, as well as handing out snacks and drinks. At one point there was a little boy with a squirt gun in his hand squirting those who waved at him as they went by.” The support of the community helped Tiffany push through her foot and IT band problems and finish in 1 hour and 48 minutes. She came in 84th overall in her bracket.

“If you have ever thought about doing a race, just sign up, you won’t regret it!” – Tiffany BeMent
