A-1 Self Storage Acquires AAA Storage South Lamar in Austin, TX

AAA Storage South LamarWe are pleased to announce that we have recently acquired AAA Storage South Lamar.

This existing 26,740-square foot self storage facility serves Austin, TX. This was an off-market transaction with the Seller.

Developed in 1975, AAA Storage South Lamar consists of 5 single-story drive-up self storage buildings and approximately 3,186-square feet of retail situated on 1.76 acres. The facility is in an ideal location with excellent visibility on South Lamar Blvd which averages over 33,000 vehicle trips per day.

We are very excited about our first successful acquisition in Austin, TX. And for this location to be our first A-1 Self Storage in Austin is just magnificent. South Lamar, or SoLa, has become one of the most desirable areas to live in all of Austin. It’s young, it’s hip, and the thousands of new residents who have moved into the area agree.

Job Opening! Full-time Commercial Maintenance Technician


toolsWe are currently seeking a full-time Commercial Maintenance Technician for our A-1 Self Storage Maintenance Department based in San Diego. An experienced maintenance person with leadership skills is needed to handle all of our maintenance projects in San Diego and periodically in the Bay Area, keeping our properties in a “like new” condition at all times. The ideal candidate must be experienced, highly motivated, detail oriented with great organizational & multi-tasking skills.

  • Candidates must have flexibility in availability and scheduling for emergency calls
  • This position offers 40 hours per week
  • Truck, fuel, and tools are provided
  • Cell phone reimbursement ($60 per month) is provided for business use of personal phone 

Job Requirements:

  1. Familiar with multi story Self-Storage facilities a plus.
  2. Knowledge of electric gates, commercial doors, Roll up doors, Door hardware, electrical, plumbing, low voltage, HVAC, drywall patching, painting and clean up.
  3. Knowledge of proper operation, and safety requirements, of various hand and power tools.
  4. Ability to walk sites and estimate all material, labor and time needed to complete each project.
  5. The ability to self-start, organized, plan ahead, schedule and order materials.
  6. Computer knowledge a must, Work orders all done on laptops or I pads including email and sending/receiving photos.
  7. Be a team player. Use positive leadership.
  8. Furnish experience history; showing job sizes, employment history and years in trade. Complete resumes with dates of employment in Word or PDF format.
  9. Work week is 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. 40 hours straight time and over time only if needed and approved.
  10. Hourly pay based on experience.

Pay Online Issue for OS X Yosemite Users

Updated 5/27/15 – This issue has been resolved.

Due to the OS X Yosemite update released recently, some users are reporting they are unable to access our Pay Online system. It appears to be affecting only OS X Yosemite v10.10.3 users at this time.

The issue affects the Safari browser. Other browsers, such as Firefox and Chrome are able to access the website. If you have an alternate browser installed, you may wish to use it to submit your payment until this issue is fully resolved.

We are diligently working with our vendor to resolve the issue, and hope to have full functionality restored for all users soon. Please check back for additional updates.
